Semma has been a part of the everyday life of the University of Jyväskylä for over two decades. The company's foundation stones were laid by Sonaatti Ltd in 1997. On May 2018, we took the next step on our journey to be able to offer higher quality food, cozier premises and better service for our customers. Therefore Sonaatti became Semma. We aim to be a one-of-a-kind restaurant campus, without forgetting our roots in Seminaarinmäki. We are a joint venture of the University of Jyväskylä, the Student Union of the University of Jyväskylä and Fazer Food Services Ltd. Together we have over 100 employees in our different offices.

Our services

Semma Campus Restaurants
We have 13 restaurants and cáfes that serve the people of the University of Jyväskylä, but also citizens and travellers. Our offices are located in the campus area of the university, Jyväskylä city library and the Student Village of Kortepohja. In addition two of our restaurants offer food for the pupils and staff of Normaalikoulu.

Semma Campus Bakery
Tasty breads, buns and season delicacies are handmade in our own bakery and taken to our restaurants. Also, our pastries can be bought to different events, meetings and home.

Semma Campus Catering
We are there for you, when you organize celebrations or need servings and facilities for an event.
